The class program is one of the largest staff-centered programs within the VA— providing daily yoga, fitness, meditation and dance classes to all staff for free. To increase marketability, re-branding was necessary.
In 2016, to really gauge and assess the need of the staff within the system, we performed a survey (both digital and print) highlighting the two main things: how people obtain information and the most important topic of interest. Physical activity, classes, and education peaked the interest of a majority of the staff.
The fun part is implementation. To move our program away from traditional flyers and marketing and collecting sign-in sheets, we slowly converted to an entire digital platform. With the combined efforts of VA’s Employee Wellness and the software engineers at Bitscopic, this idea became a reality:
