Journal 6: Chapter 13-14

The 20th Century was definitely the period of birth for several type of different art forms. Context varied, whether it was about war, media posters, film posters, illustrations on the stories of people, even the circus— this century carries a plethora of artforms and pieces that carry a moment in history, no matter the origin.

My absolute favorite artist of this century and time period is, Joseph Stella, an Italian-American painter whose use of color has definitely inspired me as an artist. Some of my favorite pieces of his are: “Tree of My Life” and “Coney Island” although he is especially known for creating industrial-type art.
