Journal 5: Chapter 11-12

Between Chapters 11-12, one of the main contributors that truly inspired me was Alphonse Mucha. His work is truly timeless and his poster’s beauty and elegance are so visually pleasing to look at. His piece ‘Les Saisons: l’hiver’ is absolutely one of my favorites because of the color palette and structure of the subjects and nature around her.

Taking a step back from painting and art, I wanted to research contributors that effected other aspects of everyday life such as architecture. I came across Louis Sullivan, an an American architecture who was also known as the father of Modernism. His designs definitely struck out to me because of the complexity and detail of his work, especially in the ones attached: (New York & Chicago)
